"What is charcoal made of"
One example is from some types of mangroves trees. Mangrove trees are trees which can be found along the shores where rivers and seas meet. In Singapore, mangrove can be found in several places such as Chek Jawa in Pulau Ubin and Pasir Ris Park.
This website shows you how charcoal is made from a type of mangrove tree.

Hi boys and girls,

Welcome to a new school year. I hope you have new goals which you want to achieve for this new year.

Also, I am happy to be your form teacher. I hope that you will learn a lot from me and as well as me learning from you. I also hope that you are starting to know more about your new classmates.

As for other matters, I will assign each one of you an important role to play in class soon.
Notice boards have also been decorated and when you start doing more assignments,
we will be able to share your work on the board with everyone else in the class.

As for your studies, Science is a new subject which you will be learning this year. It is a very interesting subject and I strongly encourage you to read up more non-fiction books to find out more about the different Science topics. Always ask questions if you are not sure of anything.

Last but not least, let's work diligently together and persevere when there's any problems!
