In the early hours of 19th Jun 2011, we gathered in school to set off to Changi Airport for our Asean Friendship Programme to Bangkok. Upon reaching Bangkok International Airport, we were warmly welcomed by our tour guide Uncle Tom and also staff from Sainamtip School. What a pleasant surprise!
Following which, we visited the Golden Buddha Temple and the Marble Temple.

The next day, we visited a war museum to learn more about World War II and how the Death Railway was built. There were many lives lost just to build the Death Railway. Life was very hard during that period of them. We must be thankful for what we have now as we are all living in a peaceful and stable environment.
When we were on the train along River Kwai, we saw the scenery of River Kwai. It was breathtaking. We had a splendid lunch at a place overlooking the river before we continued our journey.

We headed to the Wax Museum next. The wax figures of monks and royalties etc. looked life-like. They seemed almost human, just like any of us. We had a fun time there pretending to be wax figures.

On the 3rd day of the Bangkok Learning Journey, we visited Sainamtip School. Everyone in the school welcomed us warmly. The teachers walked around the school for a quick look while the pupils were split into groups for their activities. They were all involved in one of the following: Thai cooking, Thai craft, threading of a garland, playing of Thai instruments, Thai kick boxing and Bamboo dance.
After learning how to play the Thai instruments, how to do the Thai kick boxing and Bamboo dance, the students did a wonderful performance for all of us.
It was a fruitful and an eye-opening experience for all of us. Not only did we enjoy Thai cuisine prepared by the school, we also did gifts exchange and had games with the students.
We enjoyed ourselves very much and we thank our Thai hosts for giving us such a good time.

On the 4th day, we visited the Ayutthaya History Learning Centre and we learnt more about the history of Ayutthaya as the previous capital of Thailand. Then, we went to the ruins of the Ayutthaya temple and the palace. We also visited the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace before heading to the airport for our flight back to Singapore.

It was indeed an enjoyable trip for all of us. =)
